Watched the Olympics broadcast tonight and got to see Leisel Jones claim the gold in the 100m breaststroke, beating out Rebecca Soni from the US and Ye Sun from China. Hear that FASEE and MSEE?
During the broadcast, NBC spends an inordinate amount of time advertising their new shows for next season. (As if these fat Americans need to be convinced to leave the couch.) One of their new shows, Kath & Kim, is based on the long-running, award-winning, Kath & Kim from the homeland. Though I personally didn’t care much for it, I doubt the yank’s version will gain the popularity of the original. It’s just another case of an inferior culture stealing ideas from a superior one.
